In March 2012, Gordon & Rees continued its national expansion with the opening of its 23rd office in the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. Drawing on the extensive experience of the three attorneys opening the office, O’Kelly E. McWilliams, III, Edmund D. Cooke, Jr., and Jennifer W. Persico, the office initially will serve clients primarily in the areas of labor and employment, and litigation.
The trio has a demonstrated track record of performance assisting companies and governmental agencies on a broad range of employment law issues, as well as a highly specialized practice in the areas of diversity counseling and affirmative action compliance. The group also serves as outside general counsel to a number of emerging companies, advising them on the myriad legal requirements in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. For those companies doing business with the Federal Government, the group (in conjunction with other Firm attorneys) possesses deep experience with laws only applicable to such government contractors, including a host of employment laws like Executive Order 11246, and the Service Contract and Davis Bacon Acts.
Managing Partner O’Kelly E. McWilliams, III anticipates rapid growth of the D.C. office to encompass practice areas that both enhance and complement the many areas in which Gordon & Rees already possesses experience and that collectively serve the needs of the Firm’s business clients.
