In March 2011, Gordon & Rees opened an office in Austin, the firm’s third office in Texas and 19th office nationally. The team of attorneys in Austin has nearly three decades of national and international litigation experience in a comprehensive range of matters, with a focus on product liability (primarily involving the pharmaceutical, medical device, chemical, and automotive industries), toxic tort, employment discrimination, breach of contract, banking, and insurance. Team members have completed mediation training from the Dispute Resolution Center and are certified mediators.

The group represents business entities in all stages of litigation and has tried many cases to verdict in state and federal courts throughout the U.S. The Austin attorneys have extensive experience serving as local, regional and national trial and settlement counsel for mass tort litigations involving tens of thousands of claimants. The team also has a successful and well-recognized motion and appellate practice, including a number of matters that have had important impact on the issues of removal jurisdiction, federal preemption, and the reliability of expert opinion.

The Austin office includes a former General Counsel to the Governor of Texas and an Assistant Attorney General for Texas whose responsibilities covered voluminous case loads, including many first and second chair jury trials.
