California Partner Brian Ledger Authors Article on California’s Prop 65 and PFAS for Bloomberg Law

Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani Partner Brian Ledger authored an article entitled "California’s Prop 65 Magnifies PFAS Oversight of Food Producers," published by Bloomberg Law.

This article discusses California's Proposition 65 ("Prop 65"), which applies to companies that manufacture, distribute, or sell products that will ultimately be sold in California or online to California customers. Prop 65 presents legal challenges particular to the food industry related to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances ("PFAS"), a class of thousands of chemicals that are found in many different consumer, commercial, and industrial products. According to Mr. Ledger, companies in the food industry should act now to protect themselves from Prop 65 PFAS litigation.

Mr. Ledger has been a leader in Environmental and Toxic Tort Law for 29 years. He regularly represents clients in Prop 65 cases and serves as lead counsel in complex, multi-party environmental litigation under CERCLA, Clean Water Act/RCRA, and common law nuisance/trespass concerning contaminated soil, and surface and groundwater. His cases have included some of the most complex sites in California and several other states.
