Stephen Ronk and Mollie Burks-Thomas, both of the Los Angeles office, successfully defended our client, a national transportation company, in a two week jury trial in the Los Angeles County Superior Court. Our client's former employee alleged he was wrongfully terminated in violation of public policy for reporting claims of race discrimination and whistleblowing. Plaintiff's counsel asked the jury to award damages of $700,000-800,000 plus punitive damages. The jury deliberated only 1 hour and 5 minutes before returning a complete defense verdict.
