Supporting the National Constitutional Right Foundation Thru California Mock Trial Program
Gordon & Rees continues its decade long tradition of participating in the National Constitutional Rights Foundation by sponsoring a San Francisco high school team in the California Mock Trial program. The National Constitutional Rights Foundation seeks to instill in our nation's youth a deeper understanding of citizenship through values expressed in our Constitution and its Bill of Rights and educate young people to become active and responsible participants in our society. The National Constitutional Rights Foundation organizes the Mock Trial program, an academic competition, in which high schools compete at the county, state and national levels.
For the 2007 – 2008 year, Gordon & Rees coached Lowell High School’s Mock Trial Team which finished in the semi-finals. The program was organized by the Constitutional Rights Foundation and sponsored by the California State Bar.
With a new team mostly of freshman and sophomores, their efforts were very impressive. These students worked tirelessly in the competition. The Gordon Rees coaches headed by Matthew Hawk included colleagues Holly Kershell, Magdalena Ozarowski, Glen Tsurudome, Ryan Dunn and Jason Nelson who donated over 200 hours of time to help prepare the students for the competition. Lisa Perrot and Paul Vacquier served as judges at the competition.
