
Laura Leigh Geist is a partner and Practice Group Leader of the Commercial Litigation Group in San Francisco. She specializes in class action defense, defense of Unfair Competition and Unfair Business Practices, and is active in life insurance and financial services litigation including market conduct and annuity sales practices, FINRA (formally NASD) arbitrations, broker-dealer disputes and defense of corporate directors and officers. Ms. Geist has defended national and state-wide class actions involving the Truth in Lending Act (“TILA”), Unruh Act, RICO, premium financing, advertising/ marketing, rate making, school accreditation, Telephone and Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”) and product liability claims. Ms. Geist also handles FIFRA Data Compensation arbitrations. Her practice includes the defense of parallel regulatory and governmental actions to civil litigation.
Ms. Geist has comprehensive experience in complex insurance coverage and litigation involving Directors & Officers, life products, environmental, commercial, property and employment claims. Ms. Geist conducts in-house seminars for clients on risk management issues as well as helping clients develop insurance and financial products.
